We are pleased to announce the release of the introductory section of AFCI’s new industry insights report, The Film Industry Challenge. Amplifying Voices, Transforming Futures – Navigating Disruption in the Film Industry.
This publication originates from AFCI’s recent industry workshop, held during AFCI Week 2024 in Los Angeles. The workshop gathered film commissioners, producers, studio executives, students and other industry leaders to examine and address eight disruptive scenarios reshaping the future of film.
In this report, readers can explore what the future could look like – one that is more diverse, sustainable and collaborative than ever before. Key themes include the impact of AI-driven virtual productions, the importance of carbon-neutral filmmaking, and strategies for amplifying underrepresented voices within the film community. The introduction, now available publicly, provides an overview of these transformative discussions and AFCI’s guiding role in the industry’s future.

Release Schedule
November 11, 2024: The first chapter of the report, including key findings and strategic insights from the workshop, will be available to the public.
November 19, 2024: The full report will be released. It will be free for AFCI members and AFCI Week attendees and available for purchase to non-members.
