Global Film Commissioners Meet in Atlanta to Examine the Economic Impact of Film Production and Infrastructure for Cineposium 2016

 

Film commissioners along with film and television professionals from more than 20 countries from six continents are in Atlanta for the 40th annual Cineposium film industry conference today, Thursday, September 22 through Saturday, September 24, 2016.

The focus for this year’s conference is Building Your Business. Georgia’s distinction of ranking third in the world for film production, its competitive film incentives, solid production infrastructure and crew base, and the economic impact of film and television production in the state will serve as a model that attendees will examine over the course of the three-day conference.

Speaker highlights include:

  • Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor, Casey Cagle will provide remarks at Cineposium’s opening reception this evening, Thursday, September 22 at 6:30pm at the McPherson Mansion in Roswell, Georgia.
     
  • Senator Christopher J. Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. is the keynote speaker scheduled for Friday, September 23 at 10:00am at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta.
  • Scott Tigchelaar, President of Raleigh Studios - Atlanta will present an exclusive case study on the economic impact of AMC Networks’ “The Walking Dead” on Senoia, Georgia, the town where the series films.
