DISCOVER a country that is enchanting and unique, a country where nature creates art. IMAGINE a country with seasons dominated by either light or darkness, a country where the sea meets the mountains, where the melting snow gives way to delicate blossom.
Welcome to Norway and to Europe’s most extraordinary scenery! Friendly,down-to-earth people, breathtaking locations, summer nights that are as bright as day and crisp, snowy winters make Norway the location with a difference.
FILM COMMISSION NORWAY provides you with the information and assistance you need for  filming in Norway. All of our resources are aimed at helping you and your company through every stage of production. We assist in your search for locations, professionals and production facilities. We ensure effciency as well as results. Our local knowledge and research competence are unsurpassed. We are well acquainted with the requirements of the industry and will gladly help you negotiate with local authorities and landowners.
Originally a nation with an economy traditionally based on  fisheries and shipping, Norway struck gold when oil was found in the North Sea during the early 1970’s. The engineering challenges involved in the development of offshore exploration and drilling have led to the development of a high-tech industry, and today Norway is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Norway extends across 14 degrees of latitude, and measures 1,752 kilometers from north to south, making Norway a country offering a variation in landscape, vegetation and climate seldom found elsewhere. Norway is one of the few countries in the world where the distinctions between the seasons are so clearly drawn. Yet, in some parts of the country you can experience winter and summer at the same time. This makes for wonderful contrasts in the light conditions – from the northern lights of winter to the perpetual daylight of summer.
Norwegians have strong ties to nature and are very proud of their country. This applies to professional film people as well, who are eager to show you locations the likes of which you have never seen before.
So why not let us know what you think you want, and we’ll find you locations you had no idea you were looking for?
Yours, Truls Kontny
